About Michael

I'm looking for a job that allows me to provide care to children in a small setting and/or uses my pedagogical knowledge to provide quality tutoring in areas including elementary reading, math, social studies, writing, Latin and more. Before becoming the primary caregiver to my son, I spent 6 years as a special education teacher in grades K-3 providing multisensory reading, math and behavioral instruction though hands-on activities. In my spare time, I like to spend time on adventures with my son in the outdoors, reading and playing trombone. I like to let children guide their own activities by their interests and explore to find out what they love to do. My skills include behavior management, safety management and incorporating children into activities of the house that pique their interest (helping with cooking, etc.)
