Hi there! I generally go by Mika, cause it's easier to pronounce. I have about 5 years experience caring for small children, and I have a BS is Interdisciplinary Studies in which I majored in both Psychology and Criminal Justice. I am actually working to get my childcare certification (DCF 40 hr training). I like engaging kids in doing things they can do, instead of what they can't, cause it builds a firm foundation in confidence and instills an appropriate level of independence. That confidence helps them build further explore and build skills. And I do speak Spanish fluently, if that's helpful. I also have my ADP certifications for special needs individuals, and I often helped with cousin who is severely autistic. So don't be afraid to reach out if you have a special kid! Hablo español.
