About Monique

I have about 2 years experience caring for my grandmother when she was no longer able to do it on her own. I also currently work at Assisted Living. I am passionate about helping the elderly, but also allowing them to be as independent as they can. I don't believe any elder should be stripped of their independence if it is avoidable. In the past, and at my job currently, I assist our residents in daily life activities such as getting them up for breakfast and helping them to get dress. I do allow residents to pick their own outfits so they don't feel powerless. I help them get to the restroom and assist them in there as needed. I change depends, help feed, and shower/ wash up residents as well. I am a very outgoing person, and I connect with people quickly. I try to make residents feel at home as much as I can. I am currently looking for a full time summer job as I come home from college in the summer.
