When my father became ill we could not find anyone we felt "cared" enough to care for him. Granted, he had medical issues few were trained in (trachea care, Foley, feeding tube etc) but everyone I interviewed seemed so cold and robotic. I ended up being trained to care for my dad because I needed to know he was getting the best care I could get him. After he passed I decided when going back into the work force this would Be my path. I've been blessed to be home with my children for the last 22 years. My youngest is almost driving so I am ready to give my undivided attention to someone who needs just that. I am 53 years old, I am extremely up beat, compassionate and understanding of the senior generation as my mother is 81. I miss my dad so much and understand what loneliness is as I watched my mom struggle after my dad passed. Seniors have so much to offer if people would just listen. This is why My heart drove me to this career as opposed to going back to an office job.
