About Ranita

Hi! My name is Ranita and I'm currently studying Biology with a minor in Public Health at the University of Minnesota. I am an honors pre-medical student and will graduate in May 2020. I live in Minneapolis, MN and work as a Personal Care Assistant for an 80-year-old man with Dementia. Previously, I have worked as a PCA for 12 and 10-year-old brothers with epilepsy and autism disorders. I have also tutored 3rd and 4th grade elementary students in math and reading subjects, and high school students in science and math. In total, I have 5 years of Personal Care Assistant experience. As a doctor, I hope to emphasize patient safety and communicative efforts between doctor and patient. I strongly believe learning to care for patients on an individual level is crucial to any healthcare professional, and working as a PCA has been an integral part of pursuing my dream. I have additional experience in care giving from volunteering at the VA Medical Center in the hospice and inpatient wards.
