I started off by caring for my grandfather when he had an accident and had to stay in rehab for a month. I stayed with him another two weeks when he arrived home. When he was in the hospital, I would see the nurses taking good care of him and noticing that he was getting better and was able to walk again, that actually motivated me to be a better person and want to care for those who needed assistance. I would help him get a nurse when he needed one, of course he didn't want me to help him in the restroom and I would understand that. So I would do what I was told. I really didn't like leaving him alone for too long, so I would sometimes skip my meals and I was okay with that. I would go when they took him for therapy. I really love helping seniors, and it would be my pleasure to help someone that needs me. And now I have been working for a home care facility with five seniors all by myself . I do meal preparation, dressing, medication, etc. I have been working there for a while now and I have just been looking for a one-on-one care job.
