About Ruth

I have been nannying for a wonderful family with three children for the last four years. I will, unfortunately, have to stop working for them as they are moving away in September. The way I structure my days with children varies as I take their personalities and interests into consideration. In general, my childcare philosophy is a little old school. I try to avoid letting children excessively use technology. Instead, I try to do things that spark their creativity such as doing science experiments, telling them stories/reading to them, challenging them to memorize various things, having dance parties, and even just giving them the space to be bored in a safe environment so they can think of ways to keep themselves entertained without me always interfering. I'm a huge advocate for teaching children empathy and social etiquette early by modeling it so I try to incorporate that in everything I do.
