I have been working in a nursing home for about 3 years now. I may only work in the kitchen, but when I am upstairs I still show the residents the care and respect they deserve. I also have been helping care for my aunt who is not all mentally there. She is deaf-mute and can not speak English. I have been helping take care of her for years. I love being with the elderly and listening to their stories about their life. I have learned many lessons from just sitting down and having a simple conversation with the elderly. They are such sweet loving people who just want to be listened to and receive a smile every now and then!
