About Samantha

I have cared for newborns through age 12. I worked as a nanny for two children, ages 2 and 4 until they were 5 and 8. I currently work for the school district as an instructional assistant for K/1st grade. I have my BA in Early Childhood Education Administration and worked as a Special Education teacher for 4 years. I provide age appropriate educational activities as well as schoolwork help through eighth grade. I relate well to children of all ages and also have expertise in pet care, particularly dogs. I believe that childcare is much more than being there and keeping the child safe. It should include providing one on one playtime as well integrating exercise and education. I often bring projects or books with me, and when I'm providing regular or more than eight hours of care, I like to take the children outside or to a predetermined 'outing' if the parents allow. I do have safe, reliable transportation.
