About Shantima

In my earlier years I was a live-in nanny for a baby starting when he was just 4mo old. That was one of the most fun and rewarding experiences of my life! His mom was away for work a lot, sometimes over night, so most of the time it was just me and baby. I cherish those times dearly! While I have done plenty of babysitting for many families, I believe I've garnered most of my knowledge and confidence from my last 5 years working at a private, NAEYC accredited preschool/kindergarten. I was a full time assistant teacher in the youngest of the 7 classrooms. Those kiddos being 9-20 months old. After almost a year in that room I found my joy as a floater, working in every classroom in the school wherever I was needed! I love all types of interactions you get to experience when working with children. From comforting them when they're sad or scared, tucking them in when it's bedtime, to making them laugh with silly stories, and fueling their imaginations during playtime!
