About Shirlene

I have been in Special Education for the last 8 years. I have worked with students with a variety of disabilities. I have worked 1:1 in a general education classroom setting and in small groups. I have knowledge and skills in ABA therapy. I am a graduate student with a MA in Special Education with an emphasis in Autism. I also have a MA in Counseling and value mental health. I have worked with extreme behaviors and help students regulate their emotions. My personality: outgoing, empathetic and kind. I started tutoring to help students achieve their goals and improve their independence. I'm looking for a job that is stable, open communication and encourage teamwork. I started tutoring during the pandemic when it was difficult for students to learn virtually. In my spare time: exercise, listen to music, spend time with my family. I am loyal and devoted to my student's success. My skills : active listening, patience, creative, data and technology proficient.
