Hello, While I am not a professional, I do have experience with caring for the elderly. I lived with an elderly women who suffer from Diabetes, Alzheimer, and early stages of Dimentia. My routine care for this lovely lady was to prepare her meals and give her medication and vitamins on set times. I would check her sugar levels and give her doses of insulin as needed but she always injected herself as she was quite independent. Also, we would interact often as she was home all day and talk about anything. She was so funny and brave. I admired her. She took her own baths and watched TV. We never had an argument and she was able to walk. I did take her to her doctors appointments and will ease her when she forgot where she was. We grew a close bond and I will cherish it always.
