About Susan

I am a Registered Nurse with over 30 years of experience working in the acute care setting, specializing in older adults. I was a resource for staff nurses related to patients with dementia, acute confusion and falls, providing assessment, developing a plan of care and communicating with family. In my personable life, I was raised in a family with primarily older relatives which I loved. They would share their stories, teach me card games or Scrabble and generally life's lessons. I experienced the changes in a person with dementia, as my grandmother lived with the disease for the last 10 years of her life. There were difficult times and humorous times when my grandmother's personality would be present. Over-all I love to listen to the stories of older adults, participating in activities they enjoy and showing care, kindness and respect.
