My experience was in caring for my parents in their home for 4 years until their passing. My duties included assisting with bathing and dressing, preparing meals, dispensing of medication, transportation, housekeeping and assisting with wheelchair transfers. All this required a lot of patience. Our roles were reversed and as they continued to decline, they had a hard time accepting that they couldn't take care of themselves. It was a hard job, but I wouldn't change a thing.
