Hello there! I worked for just under a year as a health care aide/caregiver for an elderly woman with advanced ALS. This job included oral care, dressing and undressing, Tracheostomy suctioning, administering medication through feeding tube, emptying urinary containers, doing laundry, communication through an eye chart, and reading/sending emails. I also have experience as a companion which included attending medical appointments, cooking, cleaning, driving, grocery shopping/errands, and clerical tasks. I am passionate about care giving because I enjoy providing comfort to others in their time of vulnerability. I believe each person should be treated with compassion and respect. I strive to do that by giving those I work for the very best of care by meeting their physical needs while, at the same time, recognizing their dignity as a person.
