About Vanessa

Hello families! My name is Vanessa, I am 23 years old and I have 5+ years experience working with children. I have worked as a nanny for ages infant-7, and a 14-17-year-old children with developmental disability. I have also babysat off and on for many years. I graduated with a Bachelor's in Psychology, so I am familiar with child development, age appropriate behavior and play. I would love to help out with household chores and meal prep if needed! I value empathy, active listening, and I believe gentle communication and curiosity are essential in caretaking! I would be able to help with after school homework, taking the kids to afterschool activities, creating fun and safe activities to promote play, exploration, and creativity instead of screen time! (But screen time is always okay too and can be fun/educational!) I believe it is important to get on the child's level and meet them where they are at, encourage independence, emotional intelligence, and mutual respect!
