About Vanessa

I'd describe my personality as bubbly, compassionate, and dedicated I love tutoring because I know that if everyone is given an equitable change to learn, where time if focus and tailored to what they need help with, anyone can succeed! We aren't born with a set capacity for learning and I know this from my own experiences, first learning math! My ELEMENTARY school tutor once took her time with me back when I couldn't understand the different types of fractions, many years later and I'm currently in STEM - biomedical research ! I mean anyone can do it some just needs to be patient and willing to teach I started tutoring in 5th grade, I tutored in science and ELA. Up to undergrad where I tutored in Cell Biology, Genetics, organic chemistry, and calculus 1/2. My top three skills include 1) being patient 2) explaining an idea from multiple perspective and 3) mind mapping - I find that drawing out the explanation is easier for students to retain then writing it out.
