About Victoria

I tutor colleagues of mine with reading comprehension and grammar. I specialize in those specific areas along with elementary subjects of all levels. Next to love languages, you have learning styles. Every person is different and learns as such. I focus on implementing teaching styles costumed to my students. I encourage and am consistently patient. When I was younger, my mom tutored me in areas I struggled with. Let's just say, my mom wasn't the easiest person to work with. She got frustrated quickly and I suddenly became discouraged. In my mom's defense, she just didn't know. Throughout your life as a student, you come across many teachers who don't teach, but lecture. Don't smile, but frown. Like, but no passion. I believe to be a great teacher, you must incorporate not only knowledge, but the willingness to adapt to new students. Love what you do and make every experience a new one. I love to teach because I still remember that little girl in myself that wanted to learn, but just struggled with learning how. My consistent goal is to always maintain an upbeat, non-dreadful learning experiment. I like to take abstract material and create concrete material. I love games and being active. Assigning work, but not grading it. I believe in structure, but also like to include innovative ways to learn. I love kids and just people in general. With that said, I love the one-on-one connections only tutors can make. It's such a rewarding and amazing feeling. I strive to continuously give every single one of my students a chance to learn and succeed... because they CAN and they WILL!!
