About Vuyelwa

My name is Vuyelwa V. I am currently an international student from Zimbabwe studying Nursing. When it comes to senior care, I have done it voluntarily. My first experience was for six months at a rehabilitation center known as St Giles rehab. Here I would help the physiotherapists and the occupational therapists in executing the various exercises for the patients. Then I would transport the patients to their hospital beds and help the nurses with the transferring processes. I started getting full-time experience after my mother was involved in a life-threatening accident that left her paralyzed from the abdominal area going down. With this experience, I learned how to dress wounds and pressure sores, transfer my mother, wash her with the aid of the commodity, give her medication, transport her to the doctor, clean her room, do her laundry, perform physical therapy exercises with her, cook for her, and running other errands of the household.
