About Amanda

Hi! I'm Amanda, and I have many different experiences working with kids; in college, I volunteered to work at an afterschool program for refugee children, helping them with homework, social skills, and language skills. I also volunteered as an activity coordinator at a weekly club for teenagers on the autism spectrum, where I developed activities about science and art. This past summer, I was an instructional assistant for middle schoolers with intellectual disabilities such as Down's Syndrome, and for kids on the autism spectrum. I received my bachelor of science in Psychology. I studied childhood and adolescent development from birth to adulthood. I also wrote a portion of my senior thesis on child rearing practices. In my graduate studies, I have learned about diversity and culture in counseling, and by May, will have completed 500+ hours at my internship at a local middle school.
