About Betty

Hi! I am an educated and creative person with a good sense of humor living in downtown Boston. Growing up I loved baby sitting in the summers and working in the church nursery and Sunday school. I have 10+ years experience working with children of various ages including teaching communication skills to adults with autism. While working at Early Works Children's Museum, a hands-on, interactive history museum, I enjoyed helping children to discover new things and explore new concepts. The museum motto is "Tell me and I will forget, show me and I will remember." This principle, learned early in life, has personally served me well in teaching and working with others so that they can learn in a meaningful way and retain what they have learned. For me, the ability to actively listen is the key ingredient for any relationship. I'm happy to tidy up and do light meal preparation as needed. Personally, I enjoy bird watching, writing letters, and singing. I play trumpet, guitar, and accordian.
