I've always had a heart for seniors... from taking my children when they were young regularly to nursing homes, to taking care of my dad in his last years, and joyfully visiting with elder relatives. I believe that we can learn so much from the elderly... their experience and wisdom is irreplaceable. I've always said that I love being with people under 5 and over 75! I ran an in-home daycare for years when my kids were young, and got lots of experience working with many types of families and expectations. After my dad had his second stroke, we moved back from GA to MI to live with him and watch over his care until he needed nursing home care. (Approximately 3 years) Though I didn't provide nursing care, I did prepare his meals, be sure his medications were taken, got him to appointments, and gave him the socialization he needed. I could provide peace of mind for a family who is concerned for their loved one's basic needs - care for them as if they were part of my family.
