About Kat

Hello! My name is Kat. I have been in a variety of caregiving roles, all in-home and more recently providing live-in care for my own mother for the past 3 years. She has Alzheimer's and a TBI. I am currently working towards certification and furthering my education in eldercare, but so far I have been trained by hired PT and OT staff, as well as nursing staff throughout my mother's care. I am a great groundskeeper and housekeeper as well- I love to organize and help create spaces that encourage well-being and togetherness. My philosophy in life is that there is no better care than in our own home provided by loving people. I show our elders love and respect by meeting them where they are at in their lives - a place us younger people won't be until it is our time, but we can try to understand what it's like in the shoes of those who can't always tell us. I am glad to be able to offer myself in service to those who deserve every ounce of their autonomy in this thing called life.
