Hi, my name is Jan. Over 10 years experience working with people who've had Alzheimer's/, MS, COPD, quadriplegia, Parkinson's, stroke, cancer and dysphagia. Duties include; personal care, housework, assisting with occupational and physical therapies as prescribed by therapists, medication reminders, cooking healthy meals, maintaining hydration, skin checks, noting physical or mental changes, helping with mobility, shopping, appointments, getting people out of the house and helping maintain interests or hobbies. I've worked with doctors, nurses, hospice teams, o. t. and p. t. therapists, social workers and of course families. Don't mind tending a garden or shoveling snow and I love animals. Pretty much do as I am asked with a focus on safety. I assist people in their own homes doing the things they are used to doing the way they want them done . My philosophy has always been "What if it was me?". I am very active and energetic, lift weights, do yoga and Pilates, walk and go bike riding.
