About Jess

Childcare has been a part of my entire life. My mother was a home daycare provider for most of my young life. I started babysitting at 12 years old. I was able to start working at 14 years old and my first job was as a preschool teacher's aide for two summers. Throughout high school, I volunteered at a local Boys and Girls club. I went to college and earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. Since graduating, I have taught preschool, elementary, and middle school in 3 different states and have been teaching in New York City for the past 6 years. The demands and politics of public school teaching have been stressful and I am currently taking a sabbatical. I want to still utilize my knowledge and experience of child development and continue to bring the joy in my life of working with kids. I live in Kingston with my spouse and my cat. I enjoy creating art in my spare time and consider myself a social activist, focusing primarily on environmentalism.
