About Joseph

Experienced, patient, outgoing, & ambitious New Haven Mathematics teacher and Expert Mentor for the Modern Classrooms Project. My approach uses the Modern Classrooms Model incorporated with Building Thinking Classrooms tasks, all of which are grounded in trauma-informed teaching, personalization, differentiation, and mastery-based grading. Last year, I was certified as a Distinguished Modern Classrooms Educator and am currently an Expert Mentor for the Modern Classrooms Project. I have experience teaching as low as grade 6 mathematics all the way up to AP Calculus. I have a deep interest in mathematics and mathematics education, completing both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Mathematics with a Concentration in Secondary Education. In my previous positions, I have worked with clients (and still do) from the time they were in middle or high school all the way through their collegiate career.
