For the past 21 years, I have enjoyed providing care on a personal level. I cared for a woman with Alzheimer's for 10 years. Since she could no longer communicate, I cleaned, groomed, dressed and fed her. Since her death, I continue to help her husband out with laundry, baking, cleaning and other tasks that he may need accomplished. Since 2005, I have also cared for a woman with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). My responsibilities included helping her care for her son when he was younger, housecleaning, meal preparation and her personal care. I find great satisfaction in helping those who can no longer care for their own needs while showing them respect and helping them maintain their dignity.
