About Stacey

I'd describe my personality as humorous, understanding, and inquisitive. I like tutoring because I enjoy working with children and seeing amazing growth over time. I'm looking for a job that allows me to work days and times with more flexibility than in a public school setting. I started tutoring when I was in high school! I have tutored on and off since then. My most recent tutoring experience is working with a soon-to-be third-grader this summer. In my spare time, I like to play word games, run, watch professional sports (mostly soccer) and be with my family. One thing you should know about me is I have 20+ years experience in both public education and the private sector working with students ages 3-13. For the past 13 years, I have taught elementary school students. My skills include teaching young children how to read and helping all kids to be more successful by strengthening their literacy and math skills using research-based strategies.

Stacey tutored my 8 year old daughter for the entire summer. She is extremely well versed in understanding a child's learning profile and implementing high impact strategies to target what is most needed. As a child with ADD, attention and focus is a primary concern, which can make learning new skills more difficult. Stacey not only guided my daughter to set small achievable goals, but she also incorporated retained primitive reflex exercises, which in turn, helped her inattentiveness. She loved her time with Stacey and felt accomplished and proud after each session, and that is all we could really ask for. We couldn't be happier with the results and our daughter came out at the end of the summer, feeling more confident in entering 3rd grade!
